📢Great Morning, Trojans! There are a lot of recognitions to be made, so get ready... 🎉🏀Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Basketball Team for its wins over AtCo & Irwin Co last week! They have earned the #2 seed for the region tournament, and will play FRIDAY in Clinch against an undetermined opponent. 🎉🏀Congratulations to our Varsity Boys Basketball Team for its wins over Atco, Irwin Co (JV), and Charlton Co! They will be the #7 seed in the region tournament, and will play TONIGHT at Charlton Co vs Lanier Co at 5:30. 🎉⚾Congratulations to our BCMS Baseball team for victories last week over Valdosta, Scintilla, and Atkinson Co! This group is fun to watch, and the excitement about the future of Brooks Co Baseball is well-deserved. 🎉🏹Congratulations to Ian Kelley and Noah Grage for respectively pacing our HS and MS Archery teams at Hahira Friday. They will be back in action at Hahira this Wednesday. If you have yet to experience an archery meet, you're missing out! 🎉⚽Congratulations to our BCMS Boys Soccer Team for conquering both Cook and Lanier Co last week! 🎉⚽Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Programs for disposing of Monroe in the season opener, 9-1 and 7-0! 🎉🤸‍♀️Finally, Congratulations to Bella Raleigh for leading our BCHS Gymnastics Team to a great showing at South Forsyth this weekend. Her overall score of 32.25 (out of 40), including a 9.1 on the vault, really sets the tone for a great season this spring! ⚠⛳BCMS Golf will open its season this week. Rehearsals have begun for the upcoming musical Matilda, Jr., a joint production between the BCMS and BCHS Theatre Departments. The musical is being directed by Mr. Timothy Goins and Ms. Richell Hart and performances will be in late March.

Brooks County elementary school students and middle school students were recently given the opportunity to participate in contests offered by the Valdosta Elks Lodge #728. Students entered essays about their view of what Americanism is as well as a drug awareness poster and essay contest. Our Trojans showed up and showed out!!! Students won cash prizes as well as some will advance to the State level competition for their entries. We are so proud of our creative students who always represent Brooks County so well.

This week we celebrate National School Counseling Week! Each day, we will highlight one of our amazing counselors who provides our students and staff with support, compassion and extraordinary passion for what they do. Mrs. Whitney Monetti is the counselor for North Brooks Elementary School. Counselor Monetti has been a Trojan for 21 years, and she has been with NBES for 10 of those years!!! Mr. Lee, Principal of North Brooks Elementary School, shared, "Mrs. Monetti exemplifies kindness, respect, responsibility, compassion, and care for every student at North Brooks. She ensures each child feels valued and finds joy in their school experience. With her dedication and warm approach, she goes above and beyond to create a loving and supportive environment for all our students. As the leader of our PBIS initiative, she is making a profound impact by fostering a positive school culture and by teaching the 7 Habits of Successful Students through The Leader in Me initiative. Her passion for our students' well-being and growth shines in everything she does. We are truly fortunate to have Mrs. Monetti on our team to embrace success and to help make sure Good Things Grow Here!! " Counselor Monetti stated she loves being a counselor, because she loves getting to know the kids through learning about their interests and stories. 🎓 Pledge 2 Graduate: Committing to Success! 🎓 Brooks County Schools students in the Classes of 2028, 2030, and 2033 took a powerful step toward their futures by signing their Pledge 2 Graduate banners! 🙌 These 4th, 7th, and 9th graders made a public commitment to graduate on time with their class, setting their sights on success from an early age. Mrs. Detra Jones is the counselor for Quitman Elementary School. Counselor Jones has been a Brooks County Trojan and counselor at Quitman Elementary School for 30 years!!! We love that Counselor Jones is a lifelong Trojan!!! Mr. Price, Principal of Quitman Elementary School, shared, "When you think of Quitman Elementary School, you should immediately think of Counselor Jones. She is the heart of our school, going above and beyond for our students, staff, and community every single day. Her dedication, compassion, and unwavering support make a lasting impact on everyone she meets. QES would not run as smoothly without her, and we are forever grateful for the passion and care she pours into our school. On behalf of the entire QES family, we want to wish her a very Happy School Counselors Week! We hope she knows just how much she is appreciated today and every day." Counselor Jones stated she loves being a school counselor because "I get to see kids face problems and grow emotionally, socially, and academically. I also love being the trusted adult that children turn to for support which, in return, creates deep and meaningful connections. 🎉 Congratulations to our 5th graders at North Brooks Elementary School on completing the D.A.R.E. program! 🎓🚔 Taught by BCSD Officer Cedric Montgomery, this program equips students with important decision-making skills to lead safe and responsible lives. 🎉 Congratulations to Our STAR Student & Teacher! 🌟📚 Brooks County High School recently announced that Arianna Reddick, Class of 2025, has been named our STAR Student! 🏆✨ Arianna earned this prestigious recognition by achieving the highest SAT score at BCHS on a single test date through November of her senior year and ranking among the top students in her class. As part of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program, Arianna had the honor of selecting the teacher who has made the most significant impact on her academic journey.
