📢Great Morning, Trojan Nation!! 🎉🏆Congratulations to our very own BCMS Lady Trojan basketball player Brooklyn Hall for winning the regional Elks HoopShoot this weekend. By making 19/25 free throws, she earned the right to compete at the state level February 22nd. 🎉⚾Congratulations to our BCMS Baseball team for its 13-3 season-opening win over Lowndes. This season aims to be an exciting one for our MS Baseball program! 🎉🏀👧Congratulations to our BCHS Lady Trojan Basketball team for 4 MONSTER wins last week. Beating Clinch Co, Lanier Co, Echols Co, and Irwin Co, their record sits at 17-2 overall, including 9-0 in the region! ⚠This week will see our varsity basketball teams play 5 games...4 on the road and the final regular-season home game this Saturday. Make it a point to come out and cheer them on before they hit the region and state tournaments!! 🎉🏈We will celebrate the occasion of Marquis Williams and Chris Cole signing to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level this Wednesday at 10:00 am in the BCHS PAC. It is open to the public, and we would love to see you there! ⚠Finally, we also open our Varsity Soccer, Varsity Baseball, and Gymnastics seasons this week (schedules attached) while continuing MS Baseball, MS Soccer, Varsity Basketball, and Archery. 🌟 Brooks County Schools at the 2025 Leader in Me Symposium! 🌟 Our district leaders, administrators, and teachers recently attended the 2025 Leader in Me Symposium in Orlando, Florida! 🎉 They had the incredible opportunity to engage with top education experts and visionary leaders dedicated to transforming schools and student success. From specialized sessions tackling today’s educational challenges to networking with like-minded educators, our team gained valuable insights, best practices, and lasting professional connections. 💡✨ They also visited fully implemented Leader in Me schools, bringing back inspiration and strategies to further empower our students!

Our basketball programs will be extremely busy over the next 2 weeks leading into the region tournament to account for the 3 games they need to make up. Get your mind right and get to the gym to cheer them on! 🎉🏀Congratulations to BCMS Girls Basketball Players Brooklyn Hall, Hannah Knight, and Madyson Hadley for their performance at the Valdosta Elks HoopShoot. Brooklyn and Madyson finished 1st in their age group, while Hannah finished 2nd. 📢 School Closure Update 📢 Due to freezing temperatures again overnight affecting the melting snow and ice, making travel unsafe for our buses, students, and staff, Brooks County Schools will remain closed on Friday, January 24th. Our team will be out over the weekend checking the structural integrity of our awnings, sidewalks and walkways to ensure our campuses are safe for students and staff. The ice that is melting will continue to gather on our sidewalks and parking lot and will refreeze again tonight. Many of the roads in our county are still questionable as to whether they are passable for buses. ❄️ We appreciate your patience and understanding as safety remains our top priority. Normal schedules will resume on Monday, January 27th. Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy your extended snow break! ⛄️✨
