Mrs. Sam Harden has been named Principal of Brooks County Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year. Mrs. Harden brings 26 years of educational experience to the role, including 16 years in the classroom serving students at both the middle and high school levels. Throughout her teaching career, she taught writing, reading, and social studies at the middle school level, while also serving as a video broadcasting teacher at the high school level. Her diverse instructional background has provided her with a strong understanding of student learning, engagement, and school culture across multiple grade levels.
Ten years ago, Mrs. Harden transitioned into educational leadership, dedicating all 10 years of her administrative career to serving the students, staff, and families of Brooks County Schools. She proudly served as the inaugural principal of the Brooks County Early Learning Center, helping establish a strong foundation for early childhood education within the district. In addition, she previously served as assistant principal of Brooks County Middle School, where she worked closely with students, teachers, and families to support academic achievement and foster a positive school environment.
“Over the past several weeks, Mrs. Harden has willingly stepped into the role of Interim Principal during a time of transition, and she has done an outstanding job leading the school through the end of the school year. Her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to students and staff helped ensure a smooth transition and the continued successful daily operation of the school,” said Dr. Vickie Reed, Superintendent. “Mrs. Harden has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a dedication to doing what is best for students. I am confident she will continue to do an excellent job in her new role as principal,” she added.
Mrs. Harden is excited for the opportunity to lead Brooks County Middle School and is committed to continuing to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community members. She is honored to be part of the longstanding Trojan Pride tradition and looks forward to serving the Brooks County community in the upcoming school year with dedication, collaboration, and a continued focus on student success.
