Brooks County Schools has been made aware of rumors circulating among students regarding potential threats made on an Instagram posting. This posting has been circulating across the nation. We want to assure you that these claims have been thoroughly investigated. We have been able to determine that this threat has been deemed non-credible. As a precaution and in collaboration and partnership with Brooks County Sheriff's Office, we will have increased law enforcement presence at all Brooks County Schools tomorrow. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Brooks County Schools has been made aware of a list of schools being circulated around the state on social media. The list is from the Georgia Department of Education and is a list of Title 1 funded schools. The list denotes whether the school is a Title I Schoolwide School or a Title I Targeted Curriculum Assistance School NOT a terroristic threat list. Any information related to school threats should be immediately reported to law enforcement and the school system.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 On September 5th, the first ABAC Foundation Board Meeting of the 2024-2025 school year took place at our Performing Arts Center! 🎭 It was a day of collaboration and community, with leaders from ABAC, Brooks County Schools, and beyond coming together. Special guests included Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods, Senator Sam Watson, State Representative John LaHood, Board of Education Chair Larry Cunningham, and Board of Education Vice Chair Kasey Knight along with many others! A community luncheon was co-hosted by ABAC and Brooks County School District.🙌 After a productive meeting, participants enjoyed an ice cream social at the brand-new Harley Langdale Jr. Agricultural Barn 🍦🚜 Guests enjoyed talking to our Ag teachers and FFA members. We're excited about this ongoing partnership and what it means for the future! 🌱

Three outstanding students from Brooks County Middle School were honored with a certificate and a commemorative coin in recognition of their exceptional efforts in peacefully resolving conflicts, both on the school bus and in the classroom. Chief Casey Cope of the Brooks County Schools Police Department praised their actions, saying, 'These students have set a remarkable example of leadership and responsibility, showing that there are always peaceful ways to address challenging situations. We are proud of their quick thinking and dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.'"
