📣Join us in celebrating this Rising Trojan! 📣 Mrs. Tori Shook joined our staff this year as a fourth grade Literacy Advocate at Quitman Elementary, and we are excited to see the amazing outcomes ahead for our Trojans as they journey through the land of reading and writing! “Mrs. Shook joined QES from Henry County and has quickly become an invaluable asset to our 4th grade team. She brings enthusiasm, commitment, and teamwork, creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her strong rapport with students highlight her dedication and love for education. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Shook has shown commitment to our school community by coaching the middle school volleyball team. We are incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Shook at QES, as her work ethic, collaborative spirit, and dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities make her an exceptional member of the BCS family.” #SaturdaySpotlight #TrojanTeacherOnTheRise

🔹 Neighbors Helping Neighbors!🔹 Our very own Chief Casey Coperecently sprang into action to safely help a child who was accidentally locked in a car, showing quick thinking and dedication to safety. Meanwhile, Transportation Director Jim Goodson extended a helping hand by providing transportation home to a community member in need. It’s moments like these that remind us how much our community supports our Trojans, and in turn, we are proud to support our community! 💙❤️

🌟 Did you know that Brooks County School District is now a Leader in Me district? 🌟 All of our schools have embarked on a journey to transform into Leader in Me schools. Last year, Quitman Elementary School and Brooks County High School began this exciting process, and this year, all other schools in the district have joined in. 🚀 The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation initiative designed to teach students essential leadership and life skills for the 21st century. It fosters a culture of student empowerment by embracing the belief that every child has the potential to be a leader. 👏✨ A key aspect of Leader in Me is the integration of content from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. These habits represent timeless principles like responsibility, integrity, teamwork, and collaboration. 🤝💡 As we introduce these habits into our school communities, we encourage you to discuss these concepts at home with your children. 💬👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We’ll also be hosting informational nights for parents and guardians as we continue to grow together. 🌱

📣Join us in celebrating this Rising Trojan! 📣 Ms.Carli Wheeler is a first year teacher at North Brooks Elementary School, but she is not new to understanding just how wonderful it is to be a Brooks County Trojan, and she has started her Liam off on the right start as he recently began his academic journey at our Early Learning Center! We are so thankful for all of our educators, but it is truly special to see our graduates choose to return home to give back to the very place that helped shape them into the phenomenal world changers they are today! "Ms. Wheeler is a BCHS alumni who chose to return to Brooks County to begin her teaching career. She completed her student teaching at NBES, and she fit in from the beginning. She was always willing to help out wherever and whenever she was needed, even making the 3rd grade team different t-shirts every day of testing week last year. She is now a 2nd grade teacher and an assistant BCMS softball coach. She has had a great start to the school year, earning praise from her co-workers and administrators alike. We can't wait to watch her continue to grow and personify the phrase, "Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan!" #SaturdaySpotlight #TrojanTeacherOnTheRise

We are getting to the point in the year where we start seeing more absences due to illness. Please remind your students to keep their hands washed regularly, cover their mouths when coughing and get plenty of sleep among other ways to stay healthy. The full attendance protocol is in the student handbook on the Brooks County School District's website, but here is a visual that may help. If you have questions about attendance, please call the attendance clerk for your student's school.
