The top two causes are diabetes and high blood pressure. Today is National Kidney Awareness Day, and we are raising awareness while honoring one of our own. Please see below for her story!

We are looking for the perfect person to join our ESOL team! If you are interested in this position or know someone who would love to bring their passion for teaching and learning to Brooks County Schools, please share this post and/or apply online at www.teachgeorgia.org.

Mrs. Halley Jones, Instructional Coach at Brooks County Middle School, completed the coursework in the Special Education Administrator Development Academy (ADA) recently. The ADA is sponsored by the Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE), and is held to address the statewide concern that there is a shortage of educators specifically trained to administer/direct special education programs in school districts across Georgia.

Celebrating Black History Month at Delta Innovative School!

Brooks County Middle School celebrated with their Black History Program February 23rd. The program highlighted the importance of diversity, unity, and respect while showcasing incredible student talent during the Talent Showcase. The Quitman Elementary Fifth Grade Choir also performed, and the guest speaker was La-Juan Hayes, "DJ Big El," who took students on a musical journey through decades and eras, highlighting influential Black artists through history.

Quitman Elementary School recently hosted its annual Black History Program, Celebrating 100 Years of Black History. The program honored the rich legacy, resilience, and achievements of African Americans while spotlighting the incredible talents of our students. Throughout the month, students engaged in poetry and writing contests that encouraged a deeper understanding of Black history. During the program, winners were recognized and celebrated for their outstanding work. The event also featured dynamic student performances filled with music, speeches, and powerful presentations. What made the event even more special was that it was entirely student-led—an authentic reflection of the Leader in Me culture embedded at QES. Our students confidently served as hosts, speakers, performers, and organizers, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and pride in every aspect of the program. QES would like to extend a special Trojan thank you to our guest speakers, Mr. Lamar Thomas and Dr. Todd Cason, for inspiring our students to give their best each day. #BESTOFBROOKS

We are thankful for staff members who are committed to improving leadership opportunities in our schools!

Bravo, North Brooks Elementary! 🎭✨
Our district was treated to a front-row seat at "The Sounds of Broadway," a stunning Black History Month celebration put on by the talented NBES fifth-grade class. From the revolutionary spirit of Hamilton to the high-energy rhythms of Hairspray, these students proved that "Good Things Grow Here" every single day.
We are incredibly proud of these young performers for their courage, dedication, and for honoring history through the power of the arts.
Huge thanks to Ms. Cain and the exploratory team for their vision and for fostering such incredible talent in our schools! 🌟🎶
