Help us celebrate our amazing Bus Drivers of the Month for April and May! Our bus drivers are some of our unsung heroes—making sure our students get to and from school safely each and every day.
We’re proud to recognize one outstanding driver from each school this month:
✨ BCHS: Minnie Hollis
✨ Delta: Andrea Grant
✨ BCMS: Brian Elliott
✨ QES: Howard Golden & Helen Edwards
✨ NBES: Joe Delisle and Deborah Donaldson
✨ ELC: Niki Brevard
You will be able to identify the bus of the months by their fancy magnets adorning the side of their busses. Bus drivers-thank you for all that you do to keep our students safe and our district rolling smoothly! 🚌

The Elks hosted a wonderful dinner in honor of these outstanding students and held a special presentation where former veteran and Elks member, Mr. Wyche, presented each winner with certificates and cash prizes.
We are grateful for the support of our local Elks and proud of our students for their hard work, creativity, and achievements! 🎉

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, senior members of the Brooks County High School Art Club hosted a special paint party at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman! 🖌️💛
This meaningful event allowed our students to connect with the community while completing their required service hours for the Fine Arts Diploma Seal. Even more special—every canvas, brush, and paint used was made possible through the Robert Ward Chambers Grant.
We are so proud of these talented students for sharing their creativity and kindness:
Brenda Barnes
Carolina Cruz Mujica
Karla Zepeda
Tina Sharkey Lewis
Starrion McIntyre
Kyndall Robinson
Moments like these remind us that art has the power to bring people together across generations. 💫

Our community and school district have lost a fine man. Mr. Nathaniel "Terry" Turner will be missed in so many ways by all who knew him. He was a school bus driver, worked in our Maintenance department, and was President of the Brooks County Touchdown Club for 20+ years. There was no greater fan and supporter of the Trojans than Mr. Terry, and he truly loved our students and staff. We extend our prayers and sympathy to his family and loved ones. ❤️
