📚🍎 The first day of school is almost here, and one thing is certain... Attendance Matters Every Day!

Every day a student is in school is another opportunity to learn, grow, build friendships, and create a brighter future. That's why we're so excited to see our Brooks County students back in the classroom!

A special shoutout to Mrs. Harper at North Brooks Elementary School for helping us kick off the year with an important reminder. As the friendly face who keeps the front office running and serves as the school's attendance clerk, Mrs. Harper knows that every day counts. Her commitment to encouraging strong attendance helps set our students up for success from day one.

Let's make this our best year yet by showing up, being ready to learn, and keeping our Pledge to Graduate strong!

📚🤝 Preparing Today. Protecting Tomorrow.

The Brooks County School District Leadership Team and the Brooks County Police Department came together yesterday for a full day of impactful professional learning with the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB).

The Crisis Training explored a variety of situations that can arise within a school community and provided research-based strategies for prevention, response, recovery, and collaboration. Through meaningful discussions, scenario-based learning, and cross-agency teamwork, participants strengthened their ability to make informed decisions during challenging situations.

Our leaders left with a deeper understanding of crisis preparedness, stronger partnerships with local law enforcement, and practical tools to help ensure our schools remain safe, supportive, and prepared for every student, staff member, and family.

We are grateful for our partnership with SREB as we continue our commitment to providing safe and secure learning environments for all.

Our families have spoken, and we're proud to share that Brooks County Schools earned a 95.1% Parent Satisfaction rating on the Georgia Special Education Parent Survey, above the state average! 💙❤️

This achievement reflects the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our incredible Special Education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and support staff who work every day to ensure our students are successful.

Thank you to our parents for your trust, partnership, and valuable feedback. Together, we're making a difference for our Trojans! ❤️💙

📅 Plan Ahead, Trojans! ❤️💙

Our school calendar includes all of the scheduled Brooks County Schools breaks to help families plan ahead throughout the year.

Every day a student is in school matters, and your commitment to getting your child to school each day makes all the difference. Together, we're keeping our Pledge to Graduate strong by making attendance a priority.

✈️ When possible, please schedule:
✔️ Vacations
✔️ Routine medical and dental appointments
✔️ Family events

during our scheduled school breaks to help your child avoid missing valuable instructional time.

🎉 We have something to celebrate! During the 2025–2026 school year, only 16.4% of our Trojans were considered chronically absent—that's below the Georgia state average! 👏

Let's work together to make it two years in a row by keeping Brooks County's chronic absenteeism rate below the state average once again!

💙 Every Day Counts.
❤️ Every Student Matters.

Our two-week Camp Odyssey, for Gifted and Talented students grades Kindergarten through 6th from North Brooks Elementary and Quitman Elementary, concluded today! The camp participants hosted a showcase to share their research projects. The theme for the camp this year was "Farming and Agriculture," and the students presented projects on various farm animals or equipment. Mrs. Candace Brasington and Mrs. Christine Hiers were the coordinators for the camp. It was a great experience for all involved!

💙🎶 A HUGE thank you to our incredible community partners! 🎶💙

The Brooks County Empire of Sound Band would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Home Depot for generously donating 32 cases of water and to C Tech Water Solutions for donating 4 additional cases to help keep our students hydrated during this year's Band Camp! 💧☀️

Preparing for marching season takes hard work, dedication, and support from our community. Because of the generosity of partners like these, our students can focus on learning, growing, and making incredible music.

We truly couldn't do this without the support of our local businesses and community members. Thank you for investing in our students and helping make Band Camp a success!

Please join us in thanking Home Depot and C Tech Water Solutions for their generosity! 👏💙
