Hadley Named BCMS TOTY

Dr. Maura Lewis, Principal of Brooks County Middle School, recently announced Mrs. Lee Hadley had been selected by her peers to serve as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year. Hadley teaches English Language Arts on the 7th grade team.  A graduate of Concordia College Alabama and Capella University,  Hadley became a teacher because she felt a divine calling to influence and educate children. She stated, “My decision was influenced by every teacher that ever gave me posters, books, and worksheets to take home during the summer so that I could "teach". The most rewarding aspect of teaching is knowing that I have had and will continue to have an impact on young people and their families for the rest of their lives.” Hadley is a ten year veteran teacher with nine of those years in the Brooks County School District.  Teaching does not come without its challenges. “The most challenging aspect of teaching is getting students to realize the importance of education and the benefits of expanding your knowledge.” added Hadley.

Dr. Lewis said, “Mrs. Hadley is a fierce advocate for her school and students. Her teaching, decisions and recommendations for the school are always based on what is best for the student. She is a dedicated teacher who gives more than 100% every day, and she is an integral member of our BCMS family. Mrs. Hadley is a true representative of what it means to be a Trojan and LEVEL UP every day. She bleeds red and blue and also has some of the best dance moves in the school!”

The spouse of Rocky Hadley, Jr., Mrs. Hadley is mom to Madyson, a rising 4th grader at Quitman Elementary, Jeremiah, a rising 7th grader at Brooks County  Middle School, and Tamia, a member of the Brooks County High School graduating class of 2021. Hadley loves all things basketball - watching it, playing it, and coaching it. When not on the court, she enjoys binge watching tv, reading poetry, and just hanging out with her friends and family.

Mrs. Hadley will represent Brooks County Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year as Teacher of the Year and will compete at the district level for the title of Brooks County Schools Teacher of the Year. The BCS Teacher of the Year will be named at the Teacher of the Year banquet hosted in the fall.
