Officers Attend School Safety Summit

School is out for the summer but our staff members are continuing to learn new
strategies for keeping our Brooks County Schools students safe. BCS police officers
participated in the Region 3 Georgia School Safety Summit in Forsyth. Training topics
included building relationships with administrators and students, emergency operation
planning, investigation techniques for school threats, and a whole child approach to
school safety. Those attending the summit from Brooks County Schools were Officer
Simmie Jackson (Delta Innovative and Early Learning Center), Officer Steven Ross
(North Brooks Elementary), Dr. Al Williams, Chief Willie Charles Clemons (Brooks
County High School), and Officer Curtis Jones (Brooks County Middle School). Pictured

GEMA/HS Homeland Security Coordinator Casey Cope. Not pictured is Officer Randy
Smith (Quitman Elementary)
