BCMS Teachers enjoyed their session with Brooks County Native, Dave Holland this afternoon! They participated in a session of Therapeutic Drumming this afternoon! We #LevelUp everyday!

The Brooks County Middle School FFA members recently attended the Annual South Region Leadership Rally held at Spencefield (Sunbelt Ag Expo) - Moultrie, GA. The South Region FFA Leadership Rally’s intention is to spark the interest of FFA members in the South Region and motivate member involvement in their local FFA Chapter for the coming school year. By preparing for competition in Career Development Events, participating in local community service projects, leadership conferences, and conventions, FFA Members get an edge on other students by starting the transition into becoming a servant leader. While attending the South Region Leadership Rally, members heard from speakers from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, University of Georgia – Tifton, and South Region FFA Officers Team. Students also rotated through over ten different leadership activities led by the Area 5, Area 6, and State FFA Officers. Through these activities, students learned communication, teamwork, and leadership skills that they were able to bring back to their own FFA chapter. FFA is a national organization of over 501,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture and Georgia ranks third in the nation in total FFA membership. FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Attention Brooks County Middle and High School students currently enrolled in ECHOES 21st CCLC, including June 2022 participants. This STEM Saturday Academy is for you. Seniors and parents, there is also a special Financial Aid/FASFA session just for you. Pre-registration is required. Contact the site director at Brooks County Middle or High School for more information or to get your name on the list. Refreshments will be provided to all pre-registered attendees.

Congratulations to Coach Parker, Mrs. Rickards, and Mrs. Giddens for being recipients of the Colquitt EMC Bright Ideas Grant! Bright Ideas awards teachers money for innovative lessons and projects to energize students learning abilities! The purpose of the Bright Ideas Program is to provide resources for teachers that will enable them to plan and implement special instructional opportunities to improve student achievement through the implementation of the Georgia Performance Standards. Congratulations! We are so proud that you #LeveledUp for your students!
