As Tropical Storm Idalia occupies our attention, please rest assured that Brooks County Schools are actively monitoring the storm. We are in constant contact with local and state emergency management as well as local stakeholders. As of this moment, no decisions have been made in reference to the status of school closings. It is simply too early to make those determinations. We continue to be involved in several briefings throughout the day to ensure we have the most current information. We recommend that everyone visit the Brooks County 911/EMA Facebook page and download the CodeRed App. The free app is used nationwide and will provide real time emergency information for your area. The safety and welfare of our students and staff as well the entire Trojan community remains our top priority.

Each year our local VFW sponsors a writing contest for our Trojans. This year's writing prompt for our middle school students is "How are you inspired by America?" Please encourage your Trojan to participate in this writing contest to honor our veterans! The top three winners will be recognized at the annual Veterans Day Program on November 11, 2023. If you have questions about the writing contest, please check with Mrs. Jones (BCMS), Mr. Lucas (DIS), or your Social Studies teacher. The BCMS Trojan Football Team fought in a nail bitter against Scintilla tonight! They beat their opponents 22-20! That’s how you show grit and #LevelUp!

Are you interested in Student Council? Pick up an application from Mrs. Goodin on the 6th Grade Hallway! All applications are due to Mrs. Goodin by August 29th, 2023!

Mrs. Goodin's 8th Grade Torch Social Studies students did a gallery walk over Georgia's geography. Students had to identify Georgia's regions and physical features. They also had to make connections on how climate, water, and major cities impact where people live in the state! #LevelUp

Mrs. Overy's 6th Grade TORCH Math student's brains worked hard through a Stations Maze that covered Mean, Median, Mode, and Range! #LevelUp

We are excited to see our students #LevelUp tomorrow! Please make sure Chromebooks are charged every night and brought to school everyday! It is an essential tool for students to use throughout the school day!

Please help keep our students safe by leaving room in the front of the school for emergency vehicles if they are ever needed. Please use the GUEST parking spots to park when dropping off or picking up your student from the front of the school. Thank you!
