☀️We are excited to welcome all of our Trojans back from Spring Break tomorrow! We hope everyone had time to relax and rest. We are ready to conquer the rest of the semester together! 💪🔴⚪🔵
Tomorrow a total solar eclipse will pass over North America. During a total solar eclipse, the Moon completely blocks the Sun, causing the sky to become unusually dark during the daytime. We will not be in the total eclipse path in Brooks County. Our area will only experience a partial solar eclipse between 1:44 p.m. and 4:18 p.m., with the sky becoming darkest at the peak of 3:02 p.m. School operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, will continue as normal. Recognizing the importance of safety during this event, especially since it coincides with our dismissal time, teachers and staff will make every effort to keep students indoors until dismissal to limit opportunities for students to look directly at the eclipse. Therefore, we encourage parents to talk to their children about safety precautions during the eclipse. Parents who wish to check their child out of school early may do so. Early checkouts will be excused. Please follow the school’s early check-out procedures.
Please emphasize the importance of NOT looking directly at the sun to your child. We encourage our families to review additional informative resources such as NASA Solar Eclipse Safety and The Great American Annular Eclipse of the Sun.

Have you checked out our March Book Of The Month?
Check your green book bag from Frogstreet to find Our Senses!
As our Trojans grow and explore the world around them, it's important to help them understand the role of their senses in experiencing and remembering moments. Encouraging them to use their senses—sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell—to fully engage with their surroundings can enhance their memory and enrich their experiences
Could you take a moment this month to talk to your child about using his/her senses? Doing this will help our Trojans develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them while empowering them to create lasting memories.
Let's all strive to #ReadMoreBrooks!

Brooks County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will resume our normal schedule on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Our Trojans' safety is our top priority. After careful consideration of the weather forecasts and recommendations from local authorities, there will be no school on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, due to the threat of inclement weather. We look forward to our Trojans returning on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Happy New Year, Trojans!
Check your green Frogstreet book bag to find the January Book of The Month! Families are encouraged to read each book at least 3 times with their child. Each month we will highlight one book for families and encourage teachers to incorporate the book into the learning activities by inviting guest readers or creating activities related to the books!
This month we are focusing on captions! Using captions when reading with young readers is a valuable strategy to support their language development, comprehension, and overall literacy skills. It creates a more interactive and enriching reading experience, fostering a love for reading from an early age.

ELC parents don't forget to stop by and pick up your Krispy Kreme donut order. Thank you all for your support!

Due to current road conditions and widespread power outages, Brooks County Schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 31. We will assess conditions tomorrow afternoon and announce the plan for Friday.
Stay safe, Trojans!

Stay safe Trojans!

As Tropical Storm Idalia occupies our attention, please rest assured that Brooks County Schools are actively monitoring the storm. We are in constant contact with local and state emergency management as well as local stakeholders. As of this moment, no decisions have been made in reference to the status of school closings. It is simply too early to make those determinations. We continue to be involved in several briefings throughout the day to ensure we have the most current information. We recommend that everyone visit the Brooks County 911/EMA Facebook page and download the CodeRed App. The free app is used nationwide and will provide real time emergency information for your area. The safety and welfare of our students and staff as well the entire Trojan community remains our top priority.

Trojans, the Open House Schedule and the School Supply Lists are available on the district website. We are looking forward to a great year with the #bestOfBrooks!
