These drills must be completed by October 1, 2025. As parents/guardians, you have the choice for your child to Opt-Out if you do not want them to participate. IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE A PART OF THE DRILL, PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL’S PRINCIPAL BY TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, AT 3:00 P.M.
You may notice an increase in law enforcement presence on our campuses during the time of each drill.

📢 School Closure Update 📢
Due to freezing temperatures again overnight affecting the melting snow and ice, making travel unsafe for our buses, students, and staff, Brooks County Schools will remain closed on Friday, January 24th.
Our team will be out over the weekend checking the structural integrity of our awnings, sidewalks and walkways to ensure our campuses are safe for students and staff. The ice that is melting will continue to gather on our sidewalks and parking lot and will refreeze again tonight. Many of the roads in our county are still questionable as to whether they are passable for buses.
❄️ We appreciate your patience and understanding as safety remains our top priority. Normal schedules will resume on Monday, January 27th. Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy your extended snow break! ⛄️✨

Dear Trojan Family, As we recover from this unprecedented event, know our hearts are with you and your families. At last report, there was no accurate estimation for restoration of power in the near future. Many of our roads continue to remain unsafe and impassable, especially for school buses. Our Emergency Management Team remains in constant contact with Brooks County EMA and other public safety entities. Resources are spread thin not only in Brooks County, but the entire region. With that, we have made the decision that we will not be returning to school for the week of September 30 through October 4. Now is the time for recovery and healing. Brooks County Schools remains committed to the safety of our staff, students, and community. We will keep you posted on any new developments. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We will keep you updated as we have additional information. Thank you!
