Our BCHS art students explored Faith Ringgold's beautiful art, taking inspiration from her colorful story quilts and the inspiring story of "Tar Beach" to celebrate differences, emphasize being creative, and remember how important it is to treat everyone the same, no matter what. πποΈ Thank you Ms. Akins for allowing our students to explore history through art connections!π

It was a heartwarming celebration of excellence and dedication within our school community. We're thrilled to announce that our very own board member, Dr. Thomas, is volunteering in our BCHS math classes! π Not only did she lend her expertise, but she also brought some extra motivation along the way. π οΈ Dr. Thomas handed out green hammers to those students who absolutely crushed their Geometry test! π’π― These students are truly "bringing the hammer" academically in math, and we couldn't be more proud of their dedication and hard work. Keep shining, math stars! π π Let's also give a round of applause to Ms. Burns. She also received a well-deserved green hammer for her willingness to step outside her comfort zone to try some new strategies! π¨π You truly deserve this recognition! π



πΆ BCHS students had an unforgettable lesson on the impact of music during the Vietnam War! π΅ Ms. Gastonβs U.S. History class dove into the powerful role music played in shaping perspectives and fostering resistance during that time period. We LOVE Gastonβs passion for her content - we love an authentic learning experience with period dress and the old record player for the perfect touch! π€π Thank you Ms. Gaston for bring this fun experience to our Trojans.

Exciting news, bookworms! πβ¨ Our Brooks County High School HRRB (Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl) team is gearing up for an unforgettable journey through the pages of some incredible books! Thank you Mrs. Hubert for leading our students in this literary adventure!

Last week Brooks County High School had a special guest speaker, Micheaux Ashley, a 2004 Brooks County High School alumni. He was a semi-pro basketball player in Canada and Puerto Rico before becoming a business owner serving others as a personal chef. He has a love for Brooks County and wishes to give back to our Trojans. Thank you Mr. Ashley for presenting to our Class of 2027 when our Trojans signed their Pledge 2 Graduate banner!




Parents are invited to attend the Brooks County Schools CTAE College and Career Fair tomorrow (February 22, 2023), from 8:30 AM - 10:30AM, at the BCHS Gymnasium.
