Congratulations to Megan DeSantiago!
Megan has been nominated for the Georgia Tech Summer Institute, a competitive, statewide residential program for rising 11th graders focused on preparing students for college and STEM careers.
Participants spend a week on Georgia Tech’s campus learning about college life, financial aid, and scholarships, while engaging in hands-on STEM experiences and connecting with Georgia Tech faculty and students.
We are proud of Megan and this outstanding accomplishment!

This is a friendly reminder that Brooks County High School will be hosting Financial Aid Night on January 29th, 2026 in the Media Center. We invite all seniors and their families to join us as we share important information about college financial aid, FAFSA, scholarships, and postsecondary planning.

📍 Location: Brooks County High School Media Center
Valdosta State University and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College representatives will be on hand to provide instant acceptance decisions for students who qualify, as well as answer questions about programs and next steps.
Our goal is to make sure every senior has the information they need to confidently take the next step after graduation. We strongly encourage seniors and their families to attend.

We were excited to host our first Lunch & Learn in conjunction with our amazing PTO! Our top 10 sophomores and thier parents enjoyed Chick-fil-A while gaining valuable information.
During the session, we covered:

✔️ PSAT details and why it matters

Our teachers came together on January 5th for powerful professional learning focused on Leader in Me, collaboration, and setting the tone for a strong second semester.
We’re excited to launch a schoolwide attendance challenge for both students and staff!
✅ Attendance totals collected daily at 8:15 AM
🏆 Weekly, 8-week, and semester challenges
🎯 Goal: Improve daily attendance and increase EOC performance across the board
When leaders lead, students succeed.
