Mrs. Tina Nunn, Principal
Please allow me to introduce myself as the new principal of North Brooks Elementary School. I am incredibly excited and honored to have the opportunity to lead North Brooks Elementary and to serve you and your children in this capacity. I grew up in Valdosta, Georgia and have been an educator for more than 20 years. My career began at S. L. Mason Elementary school in Valdosta where I taught 1st grade, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd EIP, and Reading Recovery. I also served as the Academic Coach at S. L. Mason for six years before transitioning into the Assistant Principal position. In the Fall of 2015, I transferred to W. G. Nunn Elementary school and served as the Assistant Principal for the next three years. In January of 2019, I joined Quitman Elementary School as the Assistant Principal.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Education, and an Educational Specialist degree in Leadership. In addition, I have a Reading Endorsement and received National Board Certification in Reading from 2005-2015. I was selected as one of S. L. Mason’s Teacher of the Year.
I am passionate about teaching and learning. I am excited to lead North Brooks Elementary School. North Brooks strives to Nurture the Brilliance in Every Student! This belief statement is deeply rooted within my personal set of educational beliefs. I believe wholeheartedly that every single student can excel and reach his or her fullest potential. A positive and safe learning environment, standards-based instruction, high student engagement, maximized instructional time, stellar small group and whole group instruction, differentiation, and the integration of technology are just a few of the components that I will strive for daily for the students at North Brooks Elementary School. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have two beautiful girls, Olivia and Mckey. I look forward to meeting all of you and your children
Mrs. Kristi Gonzales, Assistant Principal
It is an honor to introduce Kristi Gonzales as the new Assistant Principal of North Brooks Elementary School. Kristi is excited to work with your children. Not only is she excited to begin working with your children, but she looks forward to working with all of you as parents. She can not wait to share with you the great things that your children do during their school day.
Kristi’s career began in Colquitt County where she taught Pre-k, kindergarten, and 4th grade. She also served as the Academic Coach at Cox Elementary for two years. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Middle Grades education, Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Education Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership. In addition, she has both a Gifted and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement as well as a Leadership Certificate.
Kristi and her husband Eric have four beautiful girls: Madison, Anabele, Laura, and Natilee. She looks forward to meeting each of you and ensuring that your children have the best school experience. If you need anything, her door is always open.
